The focus of discussion in this course will be in understanding the maxims of Islamic jurisprudence i.e. qawaid fiqh, to enable students to appreciate the theories and practices of Islamic banking and finance from Islamic points of view. This course will also enumerate some topic of discussions among Islamic scholars in using the science of qawaid fiqh upon which rules pertaining to finance and banking issues are established.
